Family Visit #2

About 24 hours after Grandpa and Grandma left Scott, Sue Ann and David arrived. They visited PEI and some other Nova Scotian sites. Scott was also able to visit with his mission president, and some families he knew when he was serving here. He also visited some areas where he had tracted.

We went to Point Pleasant Park for a walk. It was very windy but we had fun.

The park is a wilderness that has ruins of old forts, and many different memorials.

We also saw many trees that had these weird growths.

Enoch kept hiding behind the trees. We finally found out why and HAD to go find an outhouse.

So after a quick bathroom break we continued on. Playing on fences and with rocks.

We had fun seeing David but I think we overwhelmed him. He doesn't lok too happy here but he loved the backpack.

Sue Ann decided that Reina would make a good landscaper. She spent about 10 minutes just picking dandilions.

We sure got a kick out of David. He made us laugh. Unfortuantely, we didn't get any video of his growling or laughing, maybe next time.

Every evening after the older kids had gone to bed we pulled out the air mattress. Reina and David loved playing on it. I only have one picture and one short video of them playing becasue everytime we pulle dout the cameras they would stop and try to grab the cameras.

It's short but they loved each other.

Thanks for coming Scott and Sue Ann. We loved seeing you all.

Reina's 1st Birthday

While the family was here we celebrated Reina's first birthday and Alita's thirteenth.

We opened presents.

One of Reina's present's was a new car seat. Actually it was for Lauryn, who gave her old one to Enoch who gave his old one to Reina but we thought we'd let her open it. She thought it was fun to sit in.

She also got a xylophone but liked eating the sticks better than playing (still does).

We also had cake, of course. Since we were celebrating for Reina and Alita the cake was half a flower for Reina and half a basketball for Alita. The actual result was kind of weird but, oh well.

I have to put this clip on even though it is sidways. This should confirm to anyone that our family should never, ever sing. We are the only family that can turn a nice, exciting song like 'Happy Birthday' into a psychotic funeral dirge (even with Mom's prompting to speed up)

In our family, the first birthday is the first time our kids have their own dessert. And we always have chocolate cake, to make the most mess of course. So here is
Before,

during and..

after.

Family Visit #1

Most of our month of May has been spent entertaining family. Grandpa and Grandma, Jeff and Alita were all here for five days. Here are some of the highlights....

We discovered that Jeff will be a great father. We went shopping and left three kids in his care. When we came back he had fed them lunch including Reina.

We took Jeff to Peggy's Cove since he had not been there befrore. It was a beautiful day and we took lots of pictures.

The kids had a blast climbing on the rocks and discovering tide pools, shells and small caves.

I think even Jeff enjoyed finding small caves.

We also attempted to go to the Bay of Fundy but it was too rainy so we ended up going to Kentville where they were having a Safety Fair. The kids enjoyed trying out the police motorcycle...(utter happiness)and police car.

Notice who the criminals are. Look closely.

They also were fingerprinted.

We also had a pinata. After breaking a wooden spoon and a plastic badminton racket Alita finally just stabbed it open then...

The kids really enjoyed having the family here.

Free Comic Book Day

The first Saturday in may is Free Comic Book Day. Instead of just Paul going this year we all went. The kids had fun meeting some comic book heroes.
Poison Ivy and Wonder Women

Ironman

They also got ballon hats
or in Enoch's case a radioactive spider (at least that is what we were told) You will notice the spider only has five legs. It only started out with six but Enoch fell on it. He also fell on his original balloon which was a sword.

She Walks!!

The above pic is of Reina's favorite thing to do. Climb up on the containers of the kids toys. She will even try to climb them when they are stacked, although she can't really. Notice the face, she is very pleased with herself.

Reina is getting pretty good at walking. She is starting to prefer walking to crawling so we think it is official.

And what blog would be complete without some new craziness of Enoch's. He was doing this for about a half an hour by himself before we noticed. Apparently it is very hypnotizing when no one is laughing at you.

Easter Fun

Wow, two blogs in one month, I'm doing good.

We've had a fun Easter weekend. On Saturday we colored our eggs which with four kids is an adventure.

Enoch was fascinated, he just kept putting them in and out, in and out.

We also had the usual accidents.

Even Reina enjoyed herself.

Here are our finished products.

On Sunday we had church of course and Reina wore her new dress from Grandpa and Grandma.

She wasn't too sure about the hat though.

We also got a picture of Reina practicing standing on her own. She usually lowers herself down right away if she notices that you let go of her so this was tricky to get.

Lauryn and Enoch were playing train.

Enoch was being silly as usual. He is like this very often, (read almost always).

On Monday the Easter Bunny came and brought too many treats. The kids enjoyed searching for the candy.

The Easter Bunny even put eggs in Spiderman's hand...

... and a jackpot in Reina's walker.

Reina enjoyed finding eggs...

...but she enjoyed eating them more. These clips were taken in sequence.

Happy Easter Everyone!!
